COMPONENT LOCATION
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
ECM raises injector driving voltage to Approx. 70V~80V(voltage varies according to the difference of voltage supplied to ECM) to control injectors to which the maximum fuel pressure of 1500 bar is applied efficiently. Current controlled injectors are applied to Electronically controlled diesel engine. Changes of driving voltage which lead changes of current and injector driving current is controlled based on injector driving voltage. However, the voltage beyond the current correction capacity according to the change of injector driving voltage generation, ECM stops the engine as limiting fuel injection because fuel injection control aimed by ECM is impossible.
DTC DESCRIPTION
P1647 is set when booster voltage (raised voltage) for injector which is inside of ECM is lower than 60V. This code is due to the failure of transforming line inside of ECM.

MONITOR SCANTOOL DATA
Connect scantool to Data Link Cable (DLC)
Warm engine up to normal operating temperature.
Turn "OFF" electrical devices and A/C.
Monitor " Injector driving voltage " parameter on the scantool.
COMPONENT INSPECTION
ECM Component Inspection
Ignition "OFF", Turn engine "OFF".
Disconnect ECM.
Replace ECM, check if abnormal operations disappear.
If problems are corrected, replace ECM.
VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR
After a repair, it is essential to verify that the fault has been corrected.
Connect scan tool and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)" mode and then clear DTC.
Operate the vehicle within DTC Enable conditions in General information.
Are any DTCs present ?
? Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure.
