P1671 Injector Classification-Write Error

AutoHex Online Help: Hyundai MATRIX(FC) 2005
COMPONENT LOCATION
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Classify injectors according to fuel injection quantity into 3 Class ( C1, C2, C3 ), then mount 4 injectors of a class whose injection quantities are same on a engine. By Inputting their class, It is possible to control fuel injection quantity more accurately.

C1 : the injectors whose fuel injection quantity is large, ECM compensates for surplus of fuel quantity.

C2 : the injectors whose fuel injection quantity is normal

C3 : the injectors whose fuel injection quantity is small, ECM compensates for lack of fuel quantity.

DTC DESCRIPTION

P1671 is set when 'communication error(check sum error)' occurs during initialization of ECM in EEPROM where injector class is saved. If ECM is defective this code is set.

caution

When replacing ECM, perform "A/T, M/T Auto recognition" procedure and input injector class value correctly using scantool.

If this procedure is not performed, glow lamp on cluster is "ON" constantly and normal engine operation is impossible.

VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR

After a repair, it is essential to verify that the fault is corrected.

After connecting scantool select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTCs)" mode to and then clear DTC.
