The passenger presence detection system detects the presence of a passenger in the front seat. The system is designed primarily to prevent replacement of airbag components that fire needlessly in an accident. The PPD system consistsof a weight sensor and an interface unit.
The above DTCs are recorded when the communication error of the PPD is detected in the PPD circuit.
