B2418 Direction Control Motor (FLOOR)

AutoHex Online Help: Hyundai i30/ELANTRA NEOS(FD) 2008
Component Location
General Description

The mode control actuator adjusts position of mode door.

It is mounted on heater unit and has three independent actuator in it, Vent actuator, DEF actuator, Floor actuator.

Each actuator is consist of two parts, Direction motor that adjusts position of mode door and potentiometer that detects position of mode door.

when driver press mode switch, A/C control unit translates it into voltage form signal and sends it to mode actuator. Direction motor is operated by this signal(voltage form signal from A/C control unit) to adjust mode door position and The mode control actuator send position information detected by potentiometer back to A/C control unit to verify adjusting mode door .

DTC Description

The ECM sets DTC B2418 if the direction motor dosen't move to intended position within 40sec(The ECM attempts to move the temp door for a 2 second duration at a frequency of 3 times every 20 seconds before storing a DTC.)
