DESCRIPTION
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor consists of a magnet and coil locatednext to the flywheel. The voltage signal from the CKP sensor allows the EngineControl Module (ECM) to determine the engine of the RPM and Crankshaft Position.

Background · When the engine is running, the Crankshaft Position sensor outputs a pulse signal. · The Engine Control Module checks whether the pulse signal is input while the engine is cranking. Check Area · Engine is being cranked. Judgment Criteria · Sensor output voltage has not changed (no pulse signal is input) for 4 sec. Check Area, Judgment · ptxt>Normal signal pattern has not been input for cylinder identification from the crankshaft position sensor signal and camshaft position sensor signaln for 4 sec. | · Crankshaft position sensor failed · Open or shorted crankshaft position sensor circuit · Engine control module failed |
