It has a function where it measures air that is flown into the intake manifold and serves this signal to the ECM. The inputted signal is computes the intake air amount, which is further used to determine the ignition timing and suitable amount of fuel to the relevant load. The MAP sensor is divided into the sensor installed the intake manifold and the sensor installed in between the intercooler and throttle body. The reason for using 2 sensors is to determine the ignition timing and suitable amount of fuel when the change of negative pressure for the intake manifold at the time where there is sudden increase or decrease in speed in after and before the throttle body.
The ECM checks the state of the pressure based on the state of engine and if it senses that the pressure is out of the normal range, this DTC P0236 is set up.
