The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) monitors tire pressure. A warning lamp is illuminated when any tire drops below a certain pressure. The TPMS consists of a TPMS module and the TPMS wheel sensors. The TPMS wheel sensors are installed in the wheel at the valve stem. Wheel sensors measure the air pressure and temperature of the tire, and transmits this information to the module by RF signal. The TPMS ECU monitors the Vehicle's battery voltage to determine, as a safety issue, whether this system can operate normally. The normal battery voltage range is essential for controlling this system as intended.
The TPMS ECU monitors the voltage of battery and if it stays below a certain value, this DTC is set.
